Common reports:
You must know that this game is not offline but needs an internet connection to make the game run.. and if it's not obvious, you need a stable internet connection so everything will fully load to avoid these problems. Not all but most people who are complaining about connection issues are in the Philippines. I was just in Manila, Philippines a few months ago and I never encountered any of these issues. We played for 3 hours in a computer shop at random days with other stations full of LOL/DOTA/CSGO players and we didn't get any connection problems in that shop. But when I play at home with my mobile hotspot or neighbor's wifi, I get these kind of connection problems even though I can connect to other websites just fine.. because I'm trying to connect to a massively multiplayer online game thus I'll need a better connection/pc.
If other players are not getting the same issues at that same time, then the problem is in your location or connection. Does that make sense? Reporting that you can't connect to the game can't do much because we can't do anything about your internet connection.
So what can you do? Read the error.
A solution might be available in the very page or other sources such as using google to search about the error.
What else can you do? Keep trying.
A good example has been demonstrated by Perry. He can't see my character a few minutes ago but he tried to re-connect to the game and then it fully loaded for him this time so he can see my character now.
Is everything clear? This might not be a helpful post on how to avoid connection problems because it's your internet/connection problem. Talk to your internet service provider because I recently asked the admin about the server and according to him everything is fine.. and we're seeing other players online with no problems so there you go.
